The 16th Global Barista of the Year competition brought together six finalists from Costa Coffee markets worldwide, including the UAE, Poland and China. Over four rounds, competitors were assessed on technical skill, consistency, creativity and the ability to deliver high-quality coffee under pressure.

Judges praised Denton’s technical precision, creativity and passion for coffee, with his signature creations – a Caramelised Banana and Date Latte and iced variation – demonstrating both innovation and personal flair.

Having worked at the Wakefield Drive Thru Costa Coffee store for six years, he is a familiar face to local customers, known for his high-quality coffee craftsmanship and customer service.

The global final, held on 24-25 March at Protein Studios in London, forms part of Costa Coffee’s ongoing commitment to recognising and developing barista talent across its international network.
