The numbers behind this record are staggering, highlighting the scale of the achievement in the heart of London: 800 litres of Illy premium coffee, 465kg of sugar, 152,000 savoiardi biscuits from Forno Bonomi, 60kg of cocoa, 19,000 eggs and 1843 kg of Sterilgarda mascarpone.

The feat, led by Mirko Ricci and the organisational team of COMPLITALY TV, transformed the Chelsea Old Town Hall into a hub of Italian excellence, where dozens of chefs and volunteers worked tirelessly to deliver an exceptional result. Several associations of chefs and pastry professionals came together for this historic achievement between Italy and the UK. The pastry team included, alongside numerous volunteers, the ICC – Italian Culinary Consortium, the Federazione Italiana Cuochi UK, and the pastry group Etica del Gusto, who travelled directly from Italy to take part.

One of the top chefs involved was Carmelo Carnevale who, when asked what makes a good tiramisu, said: “A very good coffee, a nice and firm cream and a lot of passion.”

The project featured leading Made in Italy partners: Illycaffè, Carnevale 1966, Forno Bonomi, Sterilgarda, Eurovo, Gelecta and Bontà Italia, all of whom provided essential ingredients and support.

Alongside the sponsors, several Italian and British institutions supported the initiative, including the Embassy of Italy in London, the Consulate General of Italy in London, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UK, and the UK Confederation.

The event, which combined entertainment, gastronomy, and charity, also carried a powerful symbolic message. On top of the tiramisù, a special dedication was created for His Majesty King Charles III, bearing the message: ‘Grazie Your Majesty’ – a gesture of gratitude from the Italian community in the UK for the welcome and support received over the years.
