Held on 7 May 2026 at the prestigious Royal Lancaster London, the Sammies are the highlight of the UK's sandwich and food to go industry calendar. Each year they honour the achievements of the sector's finest retailers, suppliers, manufacturers and the incredible range of products they have launched in the previous 12 months.
The Café Retailer Award recognises the work being done to develop sandwich and food to go offerings in either the high street or in-store markets.
The judges look at the standard of facilities, shopping experience, customer care, presentation, product quality, sales success, marketing and NPD.
As well as considering submitted entries, the judges also drew on market data sourced from Kantar, Lumina Intelligence and FutureFoodservice to help them select shortlists and ultimate winners.
This year’s In-Store Category winner was Booths Café, whose sumptuous selection of hot and cold sandwiches proved a hit with the judges.
High Street Winner: Two Magpies Bakery, Steve Magnall, Nicola Knight, Ben Magnall, Theo Randall
In the High Street Category, it was a big win for an emerging name as East Anglian-based chain Two Magpies Bakery took the plaudits ahead of more famous national and international names.
